Understand the HRMS Dashboard
Updated 8/14/20263 min read
The Hoicko HRMS dashboard shows a live attendance snapshot (Present, Absent, Total Leave, WFH Today) at the top, a grid of Quick Access Applications for every HR module, and an Admin Controls panel for actions like updating attendance or assigning shifts.
Once HRMS is enabled, this dashboard becomes the home screen for anyone with HR access. It's designed around one simple idea: an administrator should be able to see the state of the entire company—who's in, who's out, who's on leave, and who's working from home today—without opening a single report or running a single filter. Everything on this screen updates live, so the numbers you see are accurate to the moment rather than a snapshot from an overnight batch job.
Beyond the top-level numbers, the real value of the dashboard is how much it consolidates. Rather than navigating through separate menus to check attendance, then leave, then shift assignments, every module you're likely to touch in a normal day sits as a single clickable tile in one screen. New administrators typically spend their first week clicking through every tile just to build a mental map of where things live—after that, most day-to-day work happens from two or three tiles they visit repeatedly.
What's on the dashboard:
- Employee count and today's snapshot — total employees, present, absent, total leave requests, and WFH today, each with a same-day comparison so you can spot unusual patterns (like an unusually high absence rate) at a glance.
- Quick Access Applications—one-click access to Employee Management, Leave Management, Shift Management, Holiday Management, Calendar Settings, Attendance Report, Miss Punch, Employee Leave Status, Department Structure, and Project Cost Report.
- Admin Controls — shortcuts for administrators to Update Attendance or Assign Shift directly, without navigating into a sub-module first.

Step-by-step: reading the dashboard on a typical morning
- Check the top snapshot row first — Present, Absent, Total Leave, and WFH Today — to get an immediate sense of who's working and from where.
- Scan Admin Controls for anything pending your direct action, such as attendance updates or shift assignments still awaiting confirmation.
- Use the Quick Access Applications grid to jump directly into whichever module needs attention that day — for example, Leave Management if requests are pending, or Attendance Report if you need to review a specific employee's history.
- Return to the dashboard as your default landing screen throughout the day rather than bookmarking individual sub-modules, since the live counts here often surface issues before they show up in a dedicated report.
FAQ
Can I customize which applications appear on the dashboard?
Application tiles are enabled per role and per HRMS module—an employee's dashboard will only show the tools relevant to their access level, such as My Profile, Attendance, and Leave Status, while an administrator sees the fuller set described above.
What does the "TODAY" tag on a metric mean?
It indicates that the number reflects live data for the current day, refreshed automatically as employees check in, check out, or submit requests—as opposed to a fixed historical figure.
Does the dashboard differ for owners versus managers?
Yes—the tiles and admin controls shown reflect the role assigned during setup, so a manager scoped to one department will typically see data relevant to their team rather than the full company view an owner sees.
