List View is the closest thing to a traditional spreadsheet, and it shines when you need to scan or edit a large number of items quickly, or when the primary need is data entry and bulk review rather than visualizing progress or timing. HR teams reviewing a long list of employee records, or sales ops cleaning up a large contact list, often default to List View for exactly this reason.

Kanban View—best for visualizing status-based progress

Kanban View turns each item into a draggable card, organized into columns that represent stages of progress — "To Do," "In Progress," "Done," for example. This view is ideal whenever the primary question your team is asking is "where does everything currently stand?" It's the natural choice for support ticket queues, sales pipelines, and any process defined primarily by discrete status stages.

Timeline View—best for seeing what's scheduled when

Timeline View lays work out across a calendar, making it easy to see what's happening on any given day or week without necessarily focusing on how tasks depend on one another. This view works well for content calendars, event planning, or any process where "when is this happening" matters more than "what does this depend on."

Gantt View — best for projects with real dependencies

Gantt View is the most detailed of the four, specifically designed to show task dependencies and overall project sequencing — this is the view to reach for whenever one task genuinely can't start until another finishes, and you need to visualize how a delay in one place cascades through the rest of the project.
