New SAP Ticket Board Layout Explained
Updated 9/1/20263 min read
Once a ticket has been submitted through the form, it doesn't disappear into an inbox — it lands as a live row on the New SAP Ticket board, viewed through a spreadsheet-style table called Reports. This is the single most important screen for anyone who works tickets day to day, because it's the one place where every ticket, regardless of status or owner, is visible at once.

Reading the columns, left to right
- Ticket Details — the title you wrote at submission. Clicking anywhere on this cell (or the row) opens the full record.
- Ticket ID — an auto-generated, permanent, unique code (for example,
w3gVpiL54). Use this — not the title — whenever you reference a ticket in an email or external message, since titles can be edited but the ID never changes. - Consultant Remark — a short, free-text progress note maintained by the assigned consultant (e.g., "New development," "Please validate this error"). This is usually the fastest way to understand a ticket's current state without opening the full record.
- Status — a color-coded tag showing the ticket's current lifecycle stage (e.g., WIP). Full detail on every possible status is covered in the Ticket & SLA Management category.
- Department Approval — the name of the department head responsible for sign-off, where the ticket requires one.
- Select Issue Type — the category (or categories) chosen at submission, shown as compact tags (e.g., "MODULE PO...", "DEVELOPMENT...").
- Consultant — who currently owns the ticket.
- Requester — the employee code of whoever raised it.
- Module — the affected SAP module (e.g., "PM (Plant & Machinery)"), often truncated in the column and visible in full on hover or by widening the column.
The records counter
At the bottom-left of the table, a small "records" label (e.g., "records 6") shows exactly how many rows currently match your active filter. This number updates live as you apply filters, search terms, or grouping — a quick way to sanity-check that a filter is doing what you think it's doing before you rely on it for a report.
Building a personal working view
The toolbar above the table (eye/view, filter, group, sort, search icons) lets you customize what you see without affecting what anyone else sees. A very common and effective setup: filter Status = WIP and Consultant = you, which turns this shared board into your personal daily task list in a few clicks. You can save this as a named view so you don't have to rebuild it every morning.
