Region and Master-Data Auto-Population
Updated 8/13/20261 min read
When you select a Region Code (sourced from SAP master data) on a Lead or Inquiry form, Hoicko CRM automatically fills in the Region Name and Region/Country fields—these fields are locked to prevent manual mismatches with SAP.
Why auto-population matters: manual data entry is one of the biggest sources of CRM–ERP mismatches—a sales rep typing "Ghana" instead of selecting the SAP-approved region record can silently break downstream reporting or SAP sync. Hoicko CRM removes this risk everywhere a field's value can be derived from an already-selected master record by auto-filling and locking that field instead of leaving it open to free text.
Where auto-population happens across the CRM:
| You Select... | This Auto-Fills |
|---|---|
| Region Code (on Lead/Inquiry) | Region Name, Region/Country (locked, non-editable) |
| Material (in a Product Inquiry table) | UOM (Unit of Measure) |
| Existing Account (on a Lead or Contact Form) | Associated Contacts list |
| Lead Representative field | Currently logged-in user (auto-set) |
| Lead creation date field | System-generated creation date/time |

Key highlight: these aren't just convenience features—the locked, non-editable state of auto-populated fields (like Region Name) is a deliberate data-integrity control, consistent with the SAP Account Restrictions covered in the Lead & Customer Management category.
